Happy Holidays! The Observer and the REVIEW&EXPRESS each published a combined holiday edition with the dates of Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 and Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. There is not a new paper for Dec. 25. The next new edition is Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The office is closed on Monday, Dec. 23 and will reopen Thursday, Jan 2.

Penn Yan-Dundee Football
The Penn Yan-Dundee football team fell to Lyons/Sodus at Penn Yan Academy, Saturday, Sept. 30. The final score was 27-20.
Scoring for the Scottish Mustangs were Hunter Sheehan (twice) and Braden Fingar.
The team will now face ER/Gananda on the road, Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.

Dundee-Bradford
Boys Soccer
The Dundee-Bradford boys soccer team won against HAC, 3-1, Saturday, Sept. 30. The boys fell to Naples, 2-0, Thursday, Sept. 28 and defeated Marcus Whitman, 7-0, Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Girls Soccer
The Dundee-Bradford girls soccer team shutout Twin Tiers Christian Academy, 8-0, Thursday, Sept. 28. Madison Hughes had three goals and an assist. Kendall Parker had a goal and two assists, marking 50 goals in her career so far. Kailey Yeoman, Makena Hallock, Mikayla Pavlina and Marley McAvoy each had a goal. Adalyn Tham had a shutout in the goal.
The soccer team won against Red Jacket/East Palmyra Christian, 6-1, Wednesday, Sept. 27. Parker had two goals and an assist. Riley Stinson had a goal and two assists. Pavlina recorded a goal and an assist. Hughes and Korrin Yeoman each had a goal. Tham had four saves in the goal.
The BraveScots also beat HAC, 4-3, Monday, Sept. 25. Parker posted two goals and an assist. Hughes had two goals. Bruna Crespo recorded three assists.

Volleyball
The Dundee-Bradford volleyball team lost to South Seneca, 3-0, Thursday, Sept. 28.

Penn Yan
Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team fell to Bloomfield, Thursday, Sept. 28. The final score was 1-0. The team was also beaten by Naples, 2-0, Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Girls Soccer
The Penn Yan girls soccer team won against RCSD United Girls, 1-0, Friday, Sept. 29. The team tied with Midlakes, 2-2, last Wednesday and won against South Seneca/Romulus, 5-0, Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Tennis
The Penn Yan tennis team beat Mynderse, 5-0, to finish the regular season, Wednesday, Sept. 27. The victory secured the Finger Lakes West championship for the Mustangs.
Winning for Penn Yan were first singles player Rachael Garvey, second singles Anella Tillman, third singles Natalie Koen, first doubles Amanda Smith and Erin Clancy, and second doubles Charlotte Saner and Aubrey Flores.

Golf
The Penn Yan golf team won against Honeoye 249-252, Thursday, Sept. 28. Junior Will Thompson shot a seven-over par 43 at Old Hickory Golf Club.
The team lost to HAC, 248-270, Tuesday, Sept. 26. Thompson posted a 43, including a birdie on hole number two.

Cross Country
The Penn Yan cross country team competed at Red Creek in a meet, Tuesday, Sept. 26. James Tette was first in 17:22.5. Anthony Wheeler took third and Miles Ditzell was ninth. Ameina Samultalski was first in the girls race with a 22:37.9. Eva Smith finished in fifth.

Volleyball
The Penn Yan volleyball team won against Hammondsport, 3-0, Friday, Sept. 29. Hailey Trank had 12 aces, two kills, one block, 17 assists and four digs. Lillie Marsh recorded three aces and five kills. Kaeden Dailey posted one ace, four kills, one block, one assist and four digs. Brooklyn Ayers earned one ace, two kills and one block.
The volleyball team won in three games over Mynderse, Thursday, Sept. 28. Marsh had five aces, four kills, one block and three assists. Trank made four aces, three kills, 20 assists and four digs. Jenna Reynolds added two aces and seven digs.
The team also beat HAC, Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Mustangs won in four games. Trank led with 33 assists and seven digs. Rosslan Force made 15 kills, while Reynolds added nine digs.

Hammondsport
Boys Soccer
The Hammondsport boys soccer team lost to Campbell-Savona, 3-1, Friday, Sept. 29. The Lakers also fell to Arkport-Canaseraga, 8-1, Wednesday, Sept. 27. The team won over Friendship-Scio, 7-3, Monday, Sept. 25.

Girls Soccer
The Hammondsport girls soccer team won against Friendship-Scio, 5-1, Thursday, Sept. 28. The Lakers fell to Arkport-Canaseraga, 2-0, Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Volleyball
The Hammondsport volleyball team lost to Penn Yan, 3-0, Friday, Sept. 29.
The team also fell to Fillmore, Monday, Sept. 25. Vivian Kenyon led with three aces followed by Emily Starkweather with two. Lexy Wilson led at the net with five kills followed by Starkweather and Kenyon each with three.

Schuyler Storm
Football
The Schuyler Storm football team celebrated Odessa-Montour's homecoming game with a big win over Oneonta, Friday, Sept. 29. The final score was 42-7.
Bradley Gillis completed 14 carries for 179 yards and three rushing touchdowns. Ryan Willett had nine carries for 95 yards and a touchdown and Nick D'Alleva posted four for 22 yards.
Quarterback Gavin Lohmeyer was 8-for-12 with 121 yards and one touchdown.
Brady Cannon made three catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Gillis had four for 43 yards and Alex Holmes made one catch for six yards.
On defense, D'Alleva had seven tackles and Willett recorded six. Holmes added five tackles.

Girls Swimming
Results were not available for the match against Whitney Point, Thursday, Sept. 28.

Watkins Glen
Boys Soccer
The Watkins Glen boys soccer team defeated Tioga, 4-2, Thursday, Sept. 28. Liam Smith scored three goals, all of which were assisted by Michael Purpura. Purpura also had a goal off of a penalty shot.  Goalie Caleb Bresett had five saves in goal.  
The soccer team played Notre Dame, Monday, Sept. 25. Watkins fell 5-1, Purpura scored the lone goal. Bresett had 19 saves in goal.

Girls Soccer
The Watkins Glen girls soccer team stayed perfect at 10-0 with a win over Odessa-Montour, Saturday, Sept. 30. The final score was 8-2. Skye Honrath posted three goals. Maddie Tuttle added two. Sasha Honrath, Olivia VanSkiver and Ava Kelly each recorded one. Lilly Ameigh made five saves in the goal.
The girls also defeated Newark Valley, 3-1, Tuesday, Sept. 26. Skye Honrath scored all three goals with assists by Kelly and Olivia VanSkiver. Ameigh made nine saves.

Cross Country
Watkins Glen runners competed at the McQuaid Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 30. Johnny VanScoyk was 64th, Isaac Hendrickson was 166th and Dominic Gublo finished 253rd.

Volleyball
The Watkins Glen volleyball team lost two games last week. They fell to Dryden on Friday and Lansing on Wednesday. Both games were 3-0.

Odessa
Boys Soccer
The Odessa-Montour boys soccer team won against South Seneca, 1-0, Saturday, Sept. 30. The team tied with Newfield, 1-1, Thursday, Sept. 28 and fell to Addison, 13-1.

Girls Soccer
The Odessa-Montour girls soccer team fell to Watkins Glen, 8-2, Saturday, Sept. 30. The team also lost to Trumansburg, 5-0, Tuesday, Sept. 26. Jackie Mace posted 10 saves.
The Odessa girls won against Moravia, last week. The final score was 1-0. Paisley Jezeiorski recorded the goal for the Grizzlies. Mace made seven saves.

Volleyball
The Odessa-Montour volleyball team lost two matches last week. They fell to Newfield on Thursday and Moravia on Wednesday. Both games were 3-0.
