Watkins takes second at states

CENTRAL VALLEY-Watkins Glen's boys varsity cross country team took second in the Class C state championship, Saturday, Nov. 14.
Leading Watkins was Patrick Hazlitt in 11th place overall with a time of 16:52.0. Shawn Rutledge finished in 23rd (17:14.4), followed by Gabe Planty in 28th (17:20.9). Sam Hanley took 44th (17:45.8). Jacob Carocci was 59th (18:00.8), while Daniel Paradiso was 70th (18:13.3) and Sean Holland 115th (20:06.6).
For the girls, Maggie Bond was 54th overall (21:33.6) and won the sportsmanship award.
