Watkins boys take sectional crown

CHENANGO FORKS-The Watkins Glen boys varsity cross country team claimed the Section IV Class C championship title, Thursday, Nov. 5, at Chenango Valley State Park.
Leading the Senecas was Patrick Hazlitt in second overall (16:51.2), while Shawn Rutledge claimed third (16:58.8). Gabe Planty was sixth (17:30.3). Jacob Carocci was eighth (17:46.1), followed by Sam Hanley in ninth (17:46.5). Daniel Paradiso finished 12th (17:58.9). Aaron Planty took 15th (18:11.5) and Brandon Pike was 27th (19:06.4).
The girls competed with Maggie Bond placing ninth (21:22.5). Maria Chedzoy finished 29th with a time of 23:59.2.
