Hammondsport captures sectional title

CALEDONIA-The Hammondsport girls varsity volleyball team beat Harley Allendale Columbia, Saturday, Nov. 1 to capture the Class D sectional title. The game scores were: 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 25-18.
Lahra Weber had five aces, 18 kills, and two blocks. Tanessa Whitney had four aces and 14 assists. Aly Binnert had 14 assists and 10 kills.
Hammondsport will play Batavia-Norte Dame, Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Geneseo. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Whitney and Binnert were each named to the all tournament team. Weber was named MVP and coach Erica Webster was named Class D coach of the year.
