Watkins girls take first at sectionals

CHENANGO VALLEY-The Watkins Glen girls and boys cross country teams competed in the Section 4 championships, Thursday, Oct. 30. The girls took the top spot, finishing first in Class C. The top five Watkins runners include: Kai Sutterby took eighth with a 21:18.9. Brooke Shaffer was 10th with 21:25.2. Finishing in 12th was Taylor Kennard with 21:32.5. Cambria Weeden recorded a 13th place finish with 21:38.7 and Julia Reilly was 20th with 22:11.7.
The boys finished second in Class C. The top five Watkins runners include: Patrick Hazlitt was third with a time of 17:01.9. Shawn Rutledge finished in seventh with 17:12.1. Jacob Carocci took 15th with 17:49.0. Gabe Planty was 20th with 17:56.1 and Brandon Pike was 28th with a 18:28.7.
