Fire department’s carnival is set for the weekend

PENN YAN—The Penn Yan Fire Department will hold its annual carnival at the Fireman’s Field off of Lake Street, running from Thursday, Aug. 22 to Saturday, Aug. 24. The event will feature several carnival rides, food, midway games and live music.
Thursday night will feature creekside entertainment and a DJ from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.
There will also be a chicken barbecue Friday, featuring live music from Murphy’s Law, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday features a kids matinee from 1 to 5 p.m. The annual  parade starts at 6 p.m. and will progress down Lake Street until they reach the Fireman’s Field. The parade features firefighters and trucks from several area fire departments as well as many other floats and organizations. The night will also feature the Southern Exit Band after the parade from 7:30 to 11 p.m.
