Former bus driver pleads not guilty

PENN YAN—The former Penn Yan school bus driver charged with endangering the welfare of a child, pleaded not guilty in village court, Monday, Dec. 13.
Janet Lane, 55, was arrested last week, Dec. 7.  According to authorities, the police investigated an incident where a three-year-old child was left unattended on a Penn Yan Central School District bus, Friday, Dec. 3.  Penn Yan Superintendent Ann Orman said the three-year-old child was left alone for several hours.
The Penn Yan Central School District board of education also fired Lane during the Wednesday, Dec. 8 meeting, effective immediately.
