Police arrest five people in stabbing case
PENN YAN—The Penn Yan Police Department have arrested five people total in connection with the Saturday, July 14, stabbing of two people. According to authorities, a fight broke out on Elm Street around 11:33 p.m. The report explained William Bailey, 28, 1698 Flat St., Penn Yan, allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed two individuals. Police said a male and female victim were both sent to Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital after the incident. Authorities said Bailey was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and conspiracy in the sixth degree. Bailey is being held on a $25,000/$50,000 bail. Two other people were initially arrested with Bailey in connection to the stabbing. Police said Thomas “TJ” Gordon, 27, 210 E. Elm St. Apartment 9, Penn Yan, was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, conspiracy in the sixth degree and reckless endangerment, and is being held in jail without bail. Samantha Hansen, 22, 210 E. Elm St. Apartment 9, Penn Yan, was charged with assault in the third degree and conspiracy in the sixth degree. Police said she was released to appear in court at a later date. The police said Melissa Allison, 19, Liberty Street, Penn Yan, was later arrested for criminal solicitation in the fourth degree, Thursday, July 19. The report said Allison allegedly told Bailey to stab the male victim. Allison was was issued an appearance ticket to appear in village court at a later date. The police said they made another arrest on July 19. The report said Alaura K. Milam, 22, McKinley Ave. apartments, Penn Yan, was charged with conspiracy in the sixth degree and hindering prosecution in the second degree. Authorities explained Milam is accused of providing transportation to Bailey and Gordon after the incident and was issued an appearance ticket.
